Airport Volunteer Ambassador Program

Do you have some free hours in your day? Have you ever wanted to be in the exciting atmosphere and the fun environment of an airport with travelers coming through from all over the world? Here is your opportunity. The Columbia Metropolitan Airport is announcing its brand new Airport Volunteer Ambassador Program.

The Ambassador positions are part-time positions and Ambassadors must be able to work in three hour shifts. These are volunteer unpaid positions.

As a Volunteer Ambassador you would provide general information and assistance to the public within the Airport and also work with the Airport Information Desk. Ambassador volunteers must have strong customer service and good communications skills and be enthusiastic, outgoing, motivated, friendly and be able to communicate with those of diverse backgrounds. A six month commitment is asked but that is negotiable. High school graduate; at least 18 years of age and some public service experience required. Short listed applicants will be asked to attend an interview and if selected there will be a mandatory training day.

All applicants must possess a valid S.C. Driver’s License. Applications will be accepted in the Airport Administrative Office at 125-A Summer Lake Drive Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Pursuant to Transportation Security Administration regulations all successful candidates are required to undergo a Criminal Background Investigation.
