The 2012 Kangaroo Express Salute to Our Troops Tour will stop at Columbia Metropolitan Airport on Thursday, August 2 from 1:30 – 2:30pm.  $0$0 $0 $0The Salute Our Troops Tour is a vehicle and speaking tour that runs simultaneously with the 100 day Salute Our Troops fundraising campaign.  The tour is designed to drive awareness of the fundraiser and educate the public on problems facing the military, military families and beneficiary charity programs that address these problems.$0 $0$0 $0 $0Kangaroo Express, launched the Salute Our Troops campaign in 2011 and asked customers to help in a 100 day effort to raise $1 million for the USO and other military support organizations.   By the end of the campaign a total of $2.5 million dollars was raised was raised with half of the funds going to the USO.   Kangaroo Express’ donation became one of the largest donations to the USO from a single fundraising campaign. $0 $0$0 $0 $0John Fisher, senior vice president of marketing, merchandising and restaurant operations for Kangaroo Express said that the success of the 2011 campaign was just the start of their commitment to support military personnel and they’re looking forward to doing just as well in 2012.$0 $0$0 $0 $0 $0 $0 “Raising $2.5 million last year was only the beginning of what Kangaroo Express guests and associates can achieve when they answer the call to support our Armed Forces and their families.”$0 $0 $0 $0During the Salute Our Troops Stop at the airport supporters will be able to leave their well wishes to the troops as well as make a donation towards the campaign.$0 $0$0 $0 $0For more information contact Katie Kennedy at kkennedy@uso.org or 803-822-7955 or contact Kaela Harmon at k.harmon@columbiaairport.com or 803-822-5046.$0$0 « Back to News List
