CAE can get you there for less: great fares
The American Heart Association has recognized Columbia Metropolitan Airport as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite. This designation is awarded to organizations that not only understand the importance of a healthy workplace but also take important steps to create a culture of wellness by providing support to employees.
Led by Benefits Manager, Deb Taylor, the airport’s wellness program has grown to include a variety of programs and activities that encourage airport staff to stay active and be healthy throughout the week. Among the airport’s largest initiatives is the annual Runway Run 5k race which gives airport staff an opportunity to join other runners from across the region in advocating for good health while raising funds for a cause. This year’s race is scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10am and with over 600 runners already registered; this year’s event promises to be the airport’s most successful to date.
Airport Public Relations Manager, Kaela Harmon, says that events like the Runway Run and the airport’s formal wellness program serve as an extension of the organization’s efforts to support the people who support the airport both staff and members of the community.
