The Columbia Metropolitan Airport conducted a Master Plan Update from May 1999 through January 2002. During this process several public meetings were held. At these meetings, public concern was expressed regarding aircraft noise levels to which our neighbors were being exposed. In an effort to address these concerns, the Airport decided to undertake a F.A.R. Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study. A consultant team was selected and the Study began in early 2002. The purpose of this study is to quantify aircraft related noise levels in our surrounding communities and to address the public's concerns regarding aircraft related noise events. The FAA has released their final record of approval on September 18th, 2006.
